Utilizing extensive
experience in site engineering and land planning, BME expands
their scope of services beyond traditional site engineering and provides
valuable services to the communities they work in. BME's
background brings a
cost-conscious, end-user driven philosophy to the effort for these community
services.
BME
combines their engineering and land planning expertise
to assist municipalities in completing a wide range of community services.
This includes sewer feasibility studies, street reconstruction design
services, NYSDEC Phase II stormwater compliance, and wetlands delineations and
permitting. BME assists municipalities with the preparation of land use
build-out and access plans, trails and open space plans, and visual
assessments. All of these services can be offered on an individual
project basis, as part of a corridor or sub-area study, or within an overall
master plan.
BME
also utilizes their expertise in land development to
assist communities in the preparation of design guidelines. These
guidelines can include land use and zoning criteria, incentive zoning and TDR
programs, and land development
design and construction specifications.
BME
extends their services to the realm of education
and training. We offer training programs for local municipalities, and
their technical staff and advisory boards in a host of areas. Among the
training topics that have been conducted by
BME: Reading & Interpreting Site Plans; Basics of
Stormwater Management Design and Regulations; State Environmental Quality
Review Act (SEQRA); Wetlands Regulations & Permitting; and Land Use Law &
Zoning Regulations. BME has provided training to local municipal officials, as well as
at the county and state levels.
BME believes in
taking an active role in the legislative process that shapes the development
trends in our region and our state. Through interaction in several
professional organizations,
BME is at the
forefront of the regulatory and legislative agenda that affects land use, both
on a local and a national level. This expertise is applied whether it is
an individual project or community planning. These services include
assisting local communities in the adoption of local zoning ordinances that
reflect changes to state statutes or new legislation.
